Are You Flying to Toronto?
December 1, 2010 in Helpful Information
For those of you who don’t like long drives and really just want to get to Toronto at breakneck speed, there’s the option to fly into Toronto. There are two airports to fly into: Pearson International Airport and the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.
Pearson International Airport (YYZ) is Toronto’s main airport. It is located in Mississauga and about 20 minutes from the downtown core (45 minutes if you get stuck in our traffic). Flights from all over the world travel into this airport, so you will have no problems finding flights for RvBTO 2011.
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) is Toronto’s second major airport, but this one is a bit different. The airport is run by a small business called Porter Airlines and it only services certain areas (mainly the eastern states and provinces) in the US and Canada. The one good thing about this airport is that it is located right at the downtown core of Toronto. There might be a 5 minute ferry ride, but that’s it!
If you are located in or near these areas you could consider using Porter Airlines:
United States
Boston, Chicago-Midway Airport, Myrtle Beach, New York – Newark
Canada
Halifax, Moncton, Mont Tremblant, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, St. John’s NFLD, Sudbury, and Thunder Bay
